There was this woman who had been married and divorced 5 times. Dysfunctional love life. She was ashamed to show her face among her neighbours. Blocked social life. She was a woman with no honour in a time when honour was all that a woman had. Stagnant future. She was drinking, and drinking, and drinking water, and yet remained thirsty. Jesus told her that he can give her everlasting water – water that if she drank it she would not be thirsty anymore!
